a. War of spanish succession, war of the Austrian succession, French and indian war, and seven years war. Enormous cost of these conflicts distinguished them from earlier wars. Traditional taxes collected in tralatitious ways no longer covered the obligations of governments. Major debt after Seven Years War- 137 million. Etc.
2. What were the ideas expressed during the Enlightenment? How did they spread?- A philosophical movement in eighteenth-century Europe that fostered the belief that whiz could straighten society by discovering rational laws that governed social manner and that were just as scientific as the laws of physics.
3. What were asa dulcis Franklins achievements?- Some of Benjamins greatest achievements are later in smell when he became a premier statesman. He was elected to the daddy Assembly in 1750 where his principal duties were voyaging to London to represent the dependency before the English parliament. But as British laws became to a greater extent and more restrictive of colony life, Benjamin felt his loyalties to the magnate of England waning. His increasingly pro-independence stance led him to be elected to the Continental Congress. Subsequently he became a member of the committe to draft a new constitution.



During the Revolutionary War, Benjamins diplomatic finesse proved vital. In 1781, it was Benjamin who persuaded the French to supply funds to the colonies to fight the British. along with John Adams and John Jay, Benjamin Franklin was responsible for establishing peace with abundant Britain after the war by signing the Treaty of Versailles. Benjamin continued with his statesmans duties by lobbying until his death in 1790 for the abolishment of the knuckle down trade.
