A Need for Space
This is the paper of how a trip to the suburbs of Tennessee had a major jounce on my life. Through a church group I went on a mission trip to a poor, rural conjunction outside of Memphis, Tennessee to assist in building ramps, sheds, roofing, and various early(a) projects for the elderly in the community. I had the privilege of working for and arouse to know Ms. Brenda Johnson; Through this experience, I learned how a subtle act of kindness and humanity had a major impact on my summer and life.
The story of Ms. Johnson is a sad just now unfortunately all too common one. Ms. Johnson was the youngest of four children and was born(p) and raised in a small town not far from her current residence. Her father was an auto mechanic who would roll in the hay cornerstone from work and drink himself into a stupor. He then would verbally abuse her breed and physically abuse her oldest brother. Her mother divorced her father when she was 8. Her mother now divorced had to scratch work and eventually found an overnight job as a janitor at the county hospital. She managed to graduate high school and get a job as a secretary for a local car dealer and move into a take of her own.
A few years later, her mother had a atrocious stroke and passed away. After this the rest of her siblings moved away to unalike parts of the state and country. Ms. Johnson left her job and moved a few miles down the road to take a break in paying job as a factory worker. iodine day after work, she had a tenderheartedness attack and was diagnosed as having heart disease. She was told that the stress of her job was too much for her heart and that she would have to quit. As she grew older she developed severe arthritis and was constrained to live off of measly welfare and disability checks. The home that she currently lives in is roughly 900 sq. ft. and built out of clinker brick blocks in a poor suburb of Memphis, TN.
