Punishment currently apply in our society today are retribution, deterrence, rehabilitationand societal protection. Punishment in its very concept is favourably perceived as a retributivepractice. Our society uses these iv forms of penalty attempting to lower crime rates.
Retribution is the first of the four vindications for penalty I will be discussing. Retribution isdefined as the virtuous vengeance to run across a society to make the offender suffer as much as thesuffering caused. This type of punishment was designed to satisfy the people?s need for a type ofclosure that satisfies the clean-living of society.
